For written resources, I would also have to add Wesley Chun's Core Python Programming 2nd Edition. I believe this is the best programming book I have ever read (and I have read a lot!).

Cheers,
Goyo

I quite agree :-) We have so much great material made by so many talented people in the Python world but no-one is shouting about it!
I'm talking to Jeff Rush (Python Advocacy head) and Stephan Deibel (PSF Chairman) about what we can all do about this. The time is ripe to significantly raise Python's profile.
We have plans in the works for Python and we'd like to do the same with Perl as well, given a chance. Do please become a member of ShowMeDo:
http://showmedo.com/registration
and you'll receive our monthly update emails which will speak more about this.

Just wanted to say thanks for starting a series like this. There are a lot of reasons why people don't take the dive into Python and they are all just little misconceptions, like, "but PHP already has so many open source tools" :( The more intros like this, the better.
